About Us
Welcome!
Thank you for visiting us. We are just one of many rescue organization across the country and the world, some very large, some very small and all sizes in between. Each of us try to make a difference for at least some of the millions of suffering animals out there.
We are a small group of friends and family who are doing our best to make life better for the animals that come into our care. Animals that are abused, neglected, abandoned. We do all that we can with what resources we can muster.
Most of the horses we take in are so old or so damaged (or both!) that they cannot be ridden and are tossed aside , or sent to auction/slaughter. Some are just abandoned and left to starve in a field, or worse – locked in a barn, out of sight, out of mind. When we find them, we rush in to help. The people don’t want them, so they have nowhere else to go. We rehabilitate those that we can and find forever homes for them. The rest find permanent sanctuary with us.
While we are primarily an equine rescue organization (horses, mules and donkeys), we also give sanctuary to other animals…dogs, cats, goats, chickens (yes, chickens!) …any helpless and desperate animals God puts in our path.
We believe that every horse deserves to live its life, and especially its final years feeling safe and loved. It is emotionally challenging and often physically daunting to rehabilitate these tortured souls, to give them comfort and give them back the dignity they deserve. It is a labor of love for all of us.
We invest large amounts of our time, our money and our hearts to accomplish our mission. Our time and love is freely given, but we have many needs that simply must wait because we must prioritize direct care (food, shelter and veterinary care) with what funds we have at any given time. For us (as with all rescue organizations) there are always more mouths than money.
We are very good at making do with what we have, but if you wish to donate, to help us serve more animals in need, we would be very grateful.
We pray that someday, all rescues and shelters will be empty and all animals will be loved and cherished all the days of their lives.
